We’ve had a great trip through Myanmar managed by Mysterious Myanmar Tours. Lion (Myint Swe) responded to our specific requirements and adapted the tour elements to maximise our walking and provide a few days to ourselves to explore. The accommodation was excellent – varying from homestays at local farms to luxurious accommodation at Inle Lake, Bagan and our last night in Yangon. The guides were excellent with lots of local knowledge. Our tour included a few days in Yangon then Mandalay (which is a very busy crowded place but the river trip to Mingun to seethe huge stupa and bell was great. The all day river trip from Mandalay to Bagan was a great way to see the river and surrounds. Bagan was excellent – lots of 11th / 12th century stupas and great views across the flats to all the other stupas. The three day walk from Kalaw to Lake Inle was excellent – through some forests and lots of productive farms with water buffalo wallowing or pulling carts and great homestays with far to much food. Lake Inle was magic – floating tomato gardens, unique fishing practices, great markets and small industries. Naungshwe was great discovering a huge gift procession for the monastery on our unplanned day. Thanks Lion for great adventure.

Thank you for looking after my recent time in Myanmar. Your exceptional service ,including travelling to Bagan and Inle lake as personal guide meant that our small group of enjoyed all the facilities of a much larger group with added bonus of completely personal and detailed supervision. Add to this was carefully chosen accommodation in Inle and at Ngapali Beach which allowed us to really enjoy the unique character of special places. A sfestilities improve in Myanmar I am sure you will be able to optimise the air conditioned vehicles you provided.Another feature, the expert guide you sourced for the two day trek near Inle ,added to the enjoyment due to his expert local knowledge.wishing you well in the future.

Thanks to all concerned at Mysterious Myanmar Tours. We had a rollicking good time experiencing the delights of this under-developed country. Or so we thought. Actually most of the hotels we stayed in were more than acceptable, particularly those in the big cities. We rode by bike on many good roads, including long downhill runs and a few gruelling uphill rides, overseen by Myintswe and his staff guiding us from their bikes. After these tiring rides we had welcome stops for long lunches drinking the local Myanmar beer – cheap as! Most of the local food was awesome. Try the street food especially the Burmese snack/dessert called “Khout Mote” literally meaning folded snack. You can also indulge in your favorite cocktails. You can buy the locally made spirits for less than US$2 a 500ml bottle. Myintswe made several different cocktails for us using rum, whisky and gin together with local fruits. Go to Myanmar. You won’t regret it. I thoroughly recommend Mysterious Myanmar Tours if you want a well organised, guided tour.

I have had the pleasure of being involved with 2 tours with Myint Swe (Lion). Both were very well organized and went seamlessly, which is a credit to his skills. Lion has vast personal knowledge of the history and culture of Myanmar and seems to know people everywhere we went. What an amazing country and the people are just wonderful. Myanmar “gets to you.” I will be contacting Lion when the southern areas and those pristine islands and waterways are fully open to the public.

On April 2, 2015 We (6 pax) had a 4 days 5 nights private tour of The Golden Rock – Kyaikhtiyoe Pagoda/Bago and Yangon. Mr Myint the director of the Company was also our guide for this tour for Mysterious Myanmar Tours. This holiday was designed proportionately with local cultures, history/religion and offers the amazing Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon and the golden rock We stayed at the Mountain Top Hotel in Kyaikhtiyoe which has great view from our bedroom. Hotel is clean and really nice. The ride at the back of truck from Kimmun camp base to the Golden was an experience but not as frightful as anticipate. All meals provided were simple Burmese food but nice. We also had a great time visiting Bago to places such as Shwemawdaw pagoda, King’s palace n Kyaik Pun Pagoda. At Yangon we had High Tea at the Strand Hotel which was great as we get to be out of the hot sun. After Tea we visited The Shwedagon to admire the Stupa at sun set and the illumination of the whole place. The tour is very well organized and Mr Mynit is a super guide a gentle and honest person. Very well verse in the history of Myanmar. We will certainly recommend him to anyone that is touring Myanmar and will not hesitate to use his company Mysterious Mynamar Tours again.

I had wanted to visit Myanmar for a long time , got talking to a friend of mine who i met at globetrotters in London a while back. he said if I was serious about going he recommended the guide he had used quite afe times before, we he visited to Myanmar. I met up ( after a few emails discussing a couple of itineraries)with Myint Swe in Rangoon.I was met at the airport, taken to a hotel booked by Myint Swe, it was fine. Next day Myint swe and I started our trip.we covered quite alot of Myanmar,From Rangoon to Hsibaw and a lot in between, Myintswe organised all the hotels, good transport form Planes, trains, boats large and small, truck, cars even a stage coach !! It was fantastic trip, and not expensive. I would recommend Myint Swe to anyone who was itiching to visit or even thinking of going, get in touch with him, tell him roughly what it is you would like to see, go, etc, and he will put a trip together with suggestions for you to think about, accept or not. If you have any questions, my contact details are : John Clohessy ( contact email is available on request ) Telephone : 00441634365931 I live in England, about 60 km east of London, in Kent.
