Yangon – Pyin Oo Lwin – Hsibaw – Mandalay – Mingun – Bagan – Inle Lake – Yangon

12 Nights / 13 Days ( Intrepid trails)

This is a suggested itinerary by combining several interesting places that are not all tourist area.

Our 12 nights 13 days is a fascinating journey that takes you to the Garden City of Yangon, the Cultural city of Mandalay, the amazing Temple on the dry Plains of Bagan , the Buddhist devotional sites of Pindaya and the recreational Inle Lake. Countryside varies from the cooler climate to warmer temperature as you take day ferry boats between two ancient capitals

  • Day 1 Arrive at Yangon

    Met on arrival and transfer to hotel. As tour participants arrive at varying times on this day we will meet at 9 am the following morning. Venue to be advised on your arrival. (O/n Yangon)


  • Day 2

    After the meeting of the group we will proceed for a short walking tour of some of the surviving old colonial buildings in the streets of central Yangon, including City Hall, the old Irrawaddy Flotilla Company building, the Central Telegraph Office etc. En route we will take tea at the renowned Strand Hotel.

    We then head off for lunch at a local restaurant before a visit to th3e former home of General Aung San, Burma’s national independence hero.

    We will then return to the hotel for a short break before heading out in the late afternoon to the Shwedagon Pagoda, perhaps Burma’s most recognizable site. Evening, transfer to Yangon airport for flight to Mandalay .Drive to Pyin U lwin ( Maymyo). (O/n Pyin U lwin).


  • Day 3 (Cultural Tour)

    This morning we will visit the magnificent National Kandawgyi Botanic Gardens, established in 1915 and including a stunning four acre orchid garden. The afternoon includes a relaxed wander about the small town centre and a drive past some of the old residences of the British Raj – still beautifully maintained.

    After lunch we will visit the central part of Maymyo town and take a walk through the local market..(O/n Pyin U lwin)


  • Day 4

    Drive to Hsibaw alternatively by car and train and get experience taking the train across and over Gokteik viaduct which was second highest bridge in the world as you enjoy beautiful scenery & breath taking views of the country.(Accommodation at Hsibaw)


  • Day 5

    Take the private boat along the Duttawaddy River for about 1 hr and do village walk .Visit to Shan Villages along the Duttawaddy River. (O/n Hsibaw).


  • Day 6

    Drive to Mandalay from Hsibaw for about 7 hrs. En route, We stop and visit to local village .Enjoy scenic beauty of country side along the way. (O/n Mandalay).


  • Day 7

    Mingun is located on the west bank of the Ayeyarwady River 11 kms north of Mandalay. It is the site of the uncompleted Mingun Pahtodawgyi pagoda; a stupa began by King Bodawpaya in 1790. The completed stupa would have been the largest in the world at 150 meters. Huge cracks are visible on the structure from the earthquake of 1838. King Bodawpaya also had a gigantic bell cast to go with his huge stupa, the Mingun Bell weighing 90 tons, and is today the largest ringing bell in the world. We stop and visit the superb Shenandaw Pagoda, the only remaining structure from the original Mandalay Palace. From here we head for lunch before3 checking in to our hotel. After lunch we will visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda which houses an extraordinary collection of marble tablets inscribed with the Buddhists texts of the Tipitaka – the Buddhist canon. We’ll visit to Mahamuni Buddha and then visit to U Bein’s bridge to enjoy spectacular sunset .(O/n Mandalay).


  • Day 8

    Take public express boat to Bagan on majestic Ayeyarwaddy river for about 9 hrs. En route we visit to Pottery making village of Yandabo. Lunch is on boat. Enjoy fisher man life and farming along the river. (O/n Bagan)

  • Day 9

    We will visit some of the main pagodas of the more than 2,000 in Bagan. These will include the great Ananda Phaya with its four towering gold covered teak Buddha statues, the beautiful Htilominlo Phaya and the huge and mysterious Dhamayangyi Phaya which has the most turbulent history of any in Bagan.We will visit the golden Shwezigon Phaya, started by the great founder of the First Burmese Empire, King Anawrahta. We will also visit the wonderful frescoes of Gubyaukgyi Phaya Later in the afternoon we will head to a nearby pagoda to climb up to watch sunset over the plains. (O/n Bagan).


  • Day 10

    Today we take a morning flight to Heho, and then drive to lunch at a local restaurant. We then drive to the hotel and check in. Afternoon sightseeing on Inle Lake – floating gardens. You will then have a couple of hours free before dinner (O/n Inle Lake).


  • Day 11

    Today we travel by boat the small village of Indein, located on a small canal which runs off the lake. Indein is famed for its ancient stupas, many crumbling to dust while others stand still strong from their origins a millennium ago.(O/n Inle Lake )


  • Day 12

    In the morning, we depart Heho by air for our return to Yangon .Visit to Bogyoke Market, Aung San’s Museum, (O/n Yangon)

  • Day 13 (Departure)

    We’ll transfer you to Yangon international airport for departure. We hope that you share your unforgettable holiday experiences in Myanmar with your friends.
